  • Brandon C. Hudson

    Executive Director

    Brandon Hudson is the Executive Director of Simple Intervention. He founded it in 2014 and successfully pivoted it into the premier Mental Health agency in central VA. Brandon graduated from Virginia State University with a Bachelor degree in Business Administration. Prior to starting Simple Intervention   Mr. Hudson has worked in the mental health field for 12 plus years, and also has served as a executive/ownership with various agencies for the past 8 years. Mr. Hudson has served on various non-profit boards to include Community Access and Support and Family Life Center. As Executive Director Brandon has four key goals for Simple Intervention: offer a great service, provide relentless customer service, ensure staff loves their jobs, and positively impact the community

    Kendra Hudson is the Chief Financial Officer for Simple Intervention.   She graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information System from Virginia State University and also has her Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA). Prior to Simple Intervention, Kendra has spent most of her roles in banking and management. Mrs. Hudson is also a faithful member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc and the Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce. Kendra is a huge advocate of customer service; she wants to develop a workplace environment inside Simple Intervention where all of the employees are focused on how we treat each individual that we come in contact with.

    Interesting Fact: “While alone in my car, I often put on concerts and pretend that I’m my favorite artist while using my phone as a microphone”

    Shatara Price is the Business Manager for Simple Intervention. Shatara graduated with her Associates Degree from John Tyler Community College in Business Administration and  Strayer University with her Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with a concentration Human Resource Management. With over 5 years of experience in the Human Resources Field, Shatara has been dedicated to the development and improvement of human resources policies and procedures. Mrs. Price currently works closely as an advocate for the Pinky Promise movement which promotes the empowerment of women nationwide. As a Business Manager, Mrs. Price strives to create a work environment that invites and cultivates a team that feels equipped to achieving all of their professional goals both inside and outside the company.

    Interesting Fact: “I jumped off a 15ft cliff the day before my wedding in Mexico.”

    Yolanda Wideman is a Qualified Mental Health Professional at Simple Intervention. Yolanda is a gradate of University of Maryland University College with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. From there she continued her education at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA where she completed the Marriage and Family Counseling graduate program in 2013. After serving with the United States army for 16 years, Yolanda switched gears and spent 8 years in the mental health field working as a foster care social worker and working with adults as well.

    Having experience with her son and his autism, Yolanda has a passion for seeing a difference being made in the lives of the children she works with.

    Latoya Hospedales is a Licensed Mental Health Professional-Resident in Counseling with over 12 years of experience in providing direct clinical services including interventions focused on interpersonal interactions, intrapsychic dynamics, and life management issues in the community, school, and home. Her strengths include thought leadership, cultural competence, and adept in a variety of evidenced-based clinical interventions. Miss Hospedales enjoys the opportunity to pass on knowledge to upcoming mental health professionals and seeing them grow to their fullest potential. 

     

    Interesting Fact: Originally from Trinidad and Tobago, Latoya’s personal mantra is “Travel to Learn, Return to Inspire.”

    Phillup Lyons is a Qualified Mental Health Professional at Simple Intervention. Phillup graduated from Virginia State University in 2013 with his Bachelors in Social Work and Sociology. With a desire to help people, Mr. Lyons has spent 7 years in the mental health field working with both adolescents and adults. Currently Phillup serves as a member of the National Association of Black Social Workers, St Jude’s Hospital and Men of New Water Incorporated.

    Gus is a Licensed Professional Counselor, experienced in working with children, adolescents, adults and families. He has worked in various aspects of the mental health field since 2006 and is currently doing research on Autism Spectrum Disorder and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy.

     

    Gus received his B.S. in Management with minor in Psychology from the University of Maryland, European Division.  He has a Masters degree in Public Administration from Valdosta State University and a Masters Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Thomas University.  Gus has a talent for working with people struggling with anxiety, depression, anger management issues, peer difficulties, trauma, substance use issues, ADHD, learning difficulties, avoidance/withdrawal, oppositional behavior, divorce and sexuality issues.  Gus also enjoys working with families impacted by Autism Spectrum Disorder and with families impacted by complex trauma. 

    Gus feels the traditional outpatient setting can sometimes be a barrier to effective therapeutic work with families and therefore embraces alternative forms of therapy, such as the outdoors or expressive therapies to optimize the potential for meaningful change and personal fulfillment.  Gus embraces experiential learning; motivational interviewing, Floortime, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, collaborative and solution focused therapies from the Family Systems perspective.  Gus believes it is important for the entire family to play a role in therapy and that the community also engage with families as needed.

     

    Interesting Fact: Gus believes in living a healthy and well balanced lifestyle and is a Vegetarian who has completed two 112 mile bike rides and also completed the full 26.2 mile Space Coast Marathon in Florid

    Paula Hairston is a Qualified Mental Health Professional at Simple Intervention. Paula is a graduate of Bluefield College of Bluefield Virginia with a Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Science, 2011. Paula also has an Associate Degree in Human Services Social Work from John Tyler Community College, Richmond VA, 2007 and an American Sign Language Certificate from J. Sergeant Reynolds Community College, 2007.  

    Her interest as a Qualified Mental Health Professional stemmed from having her biological mother who endure a long struggle with mental illness. Overall, Paula has spent over 15 years counseling children and families, through providing individual and group counseling. Paula especially has taken honor in her time mentoring and being a leader to Girl Scouts and offering art as an Art Teacher in previous years.  Paula is passionate for making a difference in the lives of others.

    Interesting Fact: Two of the best outlets you can ever experience is roller skating and letting a paint brush take control on a blank canvas.

    A New York native, Jasmary has a passion for helping and motivating people to be the best "them" they can be. Her goal is to one day open a mental health agency of her own and bean advocate for those who are truly in need.

    Saunya S. Hudson was born and raised in Chicago, IL. Growing up, Saunya developed a passion for learning and education and pursued her education receiving her B.S. from University of Minnesota – Twin Cities and returned to school to receive her Masters of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications from Roosevelt University in the spring of 2011.  Over the years, Saunya has dedicated her time and attention to gaining experience in the marketing industry with special focus in digital marketing and content creation. Saunya has a love for creating magnetic content and strategically building authentic relationships between brands and their audiences. 
     
    For the past 4 years Saunya has also spent much time using her gift of encouragement through a space she created online, aloveperfect.com, where she shares honest and transparent stories about her journey as a Christian with thousands of women around the world.

    A Richmond, VA native, Tracey developed her passion for assisting others by experiencing life's challenges without an advocate to help them succeed and hopes to provide support for those who feel they have no voice.

Her day to day job responsibilities include assisting with the intake for new clients and providing ongoing executive support to the office staff. Brittany is currently attending John Tyler Community College to complete her Associates in General Studies and looks to further her education in Organizational Administration.

    A Virginia Native, Brittany has been providing administrative support for over 8 years and has developed a passion for developing and implementing organizational processes that increase the efficiency of the internal process of the agency. 

    Brittany has a unique interest in horticulture and spends her free time volunteering at the Mason Lodge in Petersburg, Virginia.

    Jennifer Miller is a Licensed Mental Health Professional working as a Clinical Supervisor for Simple Intervention. Jenn's passion is working with individuals/family who have endured interpersonal violence (e.g. sexual assault, domestic violence, child abuse). Her goal with clients is to help them recognize the skills and strengths they inherently have, build and utilize them to overcome injustices and barriers that may/are preventing them from achieving their goals. Jenn is skilled in a variety of therapeutic modalities including: Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Grief Counseling, Youth PTSD Therapy (YPT) and various interventions to incorporate play/art into the therapy process. Jenn has completed several hundreds of hours volunteering with Rape Crisis Centers, Domestic Violence agencies and Crisis Hotlines. In addition, she has experience working in an outpatient addictions program providing treatment to patients who had a co-occurring mental health need. Her current interest is to pursue a Child-Parent Psychotherapy certification.

     

    Interesting fact:

    Alaska is my second home as I love to travel and enjoy the outdoors. I have seen 47 out of the 50 states. All that is missing is Hawaii, Rhode Island and Arizona.  After I check off those states, I will start exploring Europe.

    Leonardo “Leo” Rodriguez

    Migrated to the US permanently in 1992 and resided in Florida until the fall 2017. Born and raised in Venezuela, South America, he is the first in his family to attend and graduated (with honors) college. He received his Associate’s degree from Broward College in Davie, FL and received his Bachelors in Public Administration from Barry University in Miami. He completed two Master’s simultaneously. He received his Master in Theology from LAMP Theological Seminary in SW Ranches, FL and Masters in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL. Prior to Simple Intervention, Leo spent time teaching science and wellness from high school to college age students. He served as a director of Great Commission Alliance where he helped empowered the people of Haiti. His current goal is to support the community in Chesterfield and surrounding areas and promote a better environment.

    Interesting facts: Leo completed 5 triathlons (1 Olympic and 4 springs). In addition, he loves to watch cartoons with (or without) sons on Saturday morning.
